GEISHA WASHED | Panama | LIMITED EDITION 2021
For nearly 100 years, the Ruiz family has produced some of the finest coffees in Panama. Today, siblings Maria and Plinio Ruiz run the family business in Boquete. Like their ancestors, Maria and Plinio are dedicated to growing traditional coffees in a cool, shady, high-altitude environment in Boquete. Casa Ruiz has made an excellent name for itself in the coffee world and is known for quality, continuity and willingness to break new ground in processing and packaging. Their goal is to continuously produce the best coffee possible while leaving a healthy environment for future generations. Geisha is definitely the champion among Panama coffees - with the most complex and intense aroma profile of all. The Geisha variety was originally discovered in 1931 in Abyssinia, in southwestern Ethiopia, and was first brought to Panama from Costa Rica in 1963. It is still a very rare variety, but more and more growers are cultivating it. It grows very well only high up, and it seems that it has thus found its perfect home in Panama - from there come the best Geishas so far. It shows ripe sweetness, excellent purity and effervescent aroma, on a scale from berries, to citrus, to mango, papaya and peach.
FRAGRANCE: citrus, black tea
